Polypheme®:
High performance genes analysis software suite
While genomic and genetic analysis is becoming a standard (exome, whole genome, targeted sequencing), complex genes, despite a strong medical impact, are not sufficiently analyzed by traditional techniques.
Indeed, involved in complex mechanisms, these genes require a specific approach to be accurately analyzed.
The standalone Polypheme® software suite is easy to use and will enable you to perform a reliable analysis of these genes.
As complex genes such as the HLA genes in the MHC region are among the strongest genetic predisposing factors and are involved in the immune system, accurate HLA typing results are more essential than ever.
Indeed, these genes, the most polymorphic in the human genome,
play a key medical role in many fields:
- Immunotherapy
- Vaccines
- Oncology
- Autoimmune diseases
- Histocompatibility
- Adverse drug reactions
HLA genes analysis
with a >99%
proven accuracy
(based on 992 samples
from 13 populations)
The Polypheme® software suite Version 1.70 offers a solution to perform HLA typing from NGS data (Targeted, WES and WGS).
This version of Polypheme® includes standard analysis of HLA_A,-B,-C, -DRB1, -DQB1 genes.
Other genes can be added on demand.
FAQ
What genes are included in Polypheme® ?
Version 1.70 contains analysis of HLA-A, HLA-B, HLA-C, DRB1, DQB1 genes .
Other genes are already present on Polypheme® and could be added on customized solution like DRB3, DRB4 DRB5 (complete list here) and additional genes could be implemented (partnership)
What are the data that can be analyzed by Polypheme® ?
Polypheme® can analyze any kind of next generation short reads, including whole genome, whole exome and targeted sequencing
What are the recommended data ?
We recommend to use illumina exome or whole genome with 30 X of coverage, even if Polypheme® could work with lower coverage
What is the accuracy of Polypheme® ?
The accuracy of Polypheme® has been demonstrated with sample analyses of the 1000 genome panels. For HLA-A, HLA-B, HLA-C, DRB1, DQB1 genes Polypheme® reaches 99% accuracy on HLA’s 4 digits resolution (based on exome data analysis), see publication.
What are the number of fields (or digits) for HLA typing ?
Polypheme® could provide HLA typing at 2, 4, 6 or 8 digits (1, 2, 3 or 4 fields). 8 digits typing (4 fields) is only possible if whole genome data or targeted sequencing is used.
How is Polypheme® software used ?
This first version of Polypheme® 1.70 is provided as a Docker solution accompanied with a script. It is currently a command line tool.
What are the requirements regarding IT resources ?
Recommended IT ressources are 4 core, memory 8Go and hard disk SSD 250 or 500 GB. You also need to have Docker solution installed.
What is the business license model ?
You pay only what you use. The business model is based on cost per sample Analysis. You buy XPTs tokens and each sample analysis has a token cost. When you make your sample analysis you spend the associated number of tokens.
Could Polypheme® be used for diagnosis ?
Current version of Polypheme® is not a diagnosis tool and must to be used for research only !
Does academical license exist for Polypheme® ?
No academical license exists for Polypheme® but some discount are applied for academical projects and some partnership could be put in place.
